About fsp & the founder
I’m Gabrielle Chapman, a film producer passionate about the intricate process of bringing ideas to life. After earning my MFA in Film Production from Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts, I produced my first feature, navigating the challenges of independent filmmaking firsthand. When I started, I didn’t have a network of indie producers at my level to turn to—every decision, from financing to production logistics, was a learning curve. I know what it’s like to build a film from the ground up with limited resources and no clear roadmap.
I founded First Shot Producers (FSP) to bridge that gap, providing aspiring and emerging producers and filmmakers with the guidance I wish I had. Through consulting and specialized services, FSP demystifies the producing process, helping first-time filmmakers approach their projects with more confidence and knowledge. FSP is a place where you can ask all the questions and build a plan specific to your project and needs.
